Seasonal Refresh: The Spring 'Trends' We'll Be Investing In
A sudden onset of warm weather can strike wardrobe panic in even the most organised of us. That’s why we’re getting prepared and planning our spring capsule wardrobes now (need a refresher on how to build a capsule wardrobe? We have a handy guide here).
While we always like to take a considered approach to our wardrobe building, there are some trends we feel will stand the test of time.
Below, we share the spring ‘trends’ we’ll be investing in.
Column Silhouettes
From tops and dresses to skirts, this trend is quickly becoming a wardrobe essential in our books. The style feels relaxed, but elegant at the same time and makes for a striking look when worn in the one colour.
Soft Tailoring
For those wanting both polish and comfort (why choose?).
Soft tailoring has long been a favourite of minimal style enthusiasts, and thanks to their clean, coordinated look and relaxed fit, you can easily dress it down with a minimal sandal or classic white sneaker.
Crafted from soft lightweight wool, linen and cotton in oversized and relaxed silhouettes it’s this season's answer to the structured wool suiting we saw this past winter.
Low-Rise Jeans
We have always been of the opinion that good denim is an essential part of any wardrobe, and in the past few years, we have seen a shift towards more oversized, wide-leg silhouettes. This season we’re adding the low waist.
Breathing a decided freshness into any outfit that feels both elevated and cool (think off-duty model) it’s also super comfortable.
Subtle Cut-Outs
Driven by resort wear, this season's cut-outs are more subtle in nature, concealed behind bows or in the form of leg bearing slits. The perfect pieces for warm weather they pair easily with more relaxed pieces like denim or simple tanks in the case of the skirt.
Off-The-Shoulder
It’s rare, but every now and then a trend will evolve into a mainstay, and off-the-shoulder pieces are definitely in our list of wardrobe staples. Explore the trend through elegant linen tops or form-fitting cotton dresses.
